Summary:
As a food runner you are responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to the dining area in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that our guests have an exceptional dining experience. Your role will involve working closely with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth communication and efficient service.
Reports to: Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Director of Food and Beverage, or shift lead.

Essential Job Functions:
- Must possess strong communications skills.
- Must be able to perform adequately under pressure.
- Prepare all food items according to order in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Maintain work areas in a sanitized and orderly manner in compliance with state health and safety regulations.
- Reports any health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays if food for extended periods.
- Attention to detail: Ensuring that all orders are correct and delivered promptly.
- Ability to effectively communicate with kitchen and service staff, as well as customers.
- Work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, energetic, and approachable demeanor, committed to providing topnotch guest service.
- Ability to work independently and know what side work could be done in the event that you have down time (e.g. dishes, polishing silverware, restocking dressing, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the Essential Job Functions listed above:
- Deliver Food & Beverages: Transport food from the kitchen to guests in a quick, efficient, and courteous manner, ensuring accuracy and proper presentation.
- Assist Servers: Support the servers by running food, drinks, and condiments, allowing them to focus on customer interaction.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure that the dining area is clean and organized, including resetting tables and clearing empty plates and utensils.
- Guest Satisfaction: Provide guests with excellent service by checking in periodically to ensure their needs are met and responding promptly to requests.
- Assist with Stocking: Help with stocking supplies, including utensils, napkins, condiments, and beverage stations.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure a smooth flow of food orders and resolve any potential issues quickly.
- Maintain Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety protocols, including food handling and cleanliness standards, to ensure the safety of both guests and staff.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Current Food Handlers card a must. Prior cooking experience helpful.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Work Environment:
- Schedule: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
