Summary:
To prepare food orders for the restaurant at the standards of the restaurant, ensuring quality and consistency at all times. Your work will directly contribute to creating and exceptional dining experience for our guests. Must be passionate about food, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Reports to: Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Director of Food and Beverage.

Essential Job Functions:
- Must possess strong communications skills.
- Must be able to perform adequately under pressure.
- Prepare all food items according to order in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Safely use preparatory utensils such as knives, pans, and other culinary accessories on a regular basis.
- Safely use deep fryer, mixer, blender, steamer, grater, and other preparatory equipment on a regular basis.
- Communicate with servers in a professional manner.
- Coordinate with chef (if appropriate) to maintain appropriate inventory levels of all essential food and other related items.
- Examine, label, and store incoming food supplies in storage and refrigeration areas appropriately.
- Ensure kitchen appliances and equipment have been cleaned and turned off at the end of each workday.
- Maintain work areas in a sanitized and orderly manner in compliance with state health and safety regulations.
- Reports any health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management.
- Ability to follow recipes and presentation guidelines precisely.
- Strong communication and collaborations skills with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the Essential Job Functions listed above:
- Follow portion and quality control standards of the menu.
- Ensure safe and sanitary storage / disposal of all leftover/unused food products.
- Prepare, cook and plate dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications. Ensure each dish is cooked to the highest quality standards.
- Set up and maintain your designated cooking station, ensuring it is organized, stocked, and sanitary always.
- Monitor and manage ingredients and supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and items are properly stored.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with the restaurant’s standards, both in taste and presentation.
- Work quickly and efficiently during peak hours while maintaining a calm demeanor to ensure timely food delivery.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and effective communication. Assist with other cooking stations as needed.
- Follow health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Adhere to sanitation standards and practices to ensure food safety.
- Perform basic food prep tasks such as chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients for dishes.
- Accommodate special requests, allergies, and dietary preferences from guests while ensuring proper execution and safety.

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Current Food Handlers card.
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar kitchen role preferred.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

The employee has a greater than average risk of getting a minor injury such as a cut or burn while performing the duties of this job. The employee occasionally will be working in temperatures about 100 degrees and will be walking on slippery surfaces.
